Soft Launch Event — May 2023
On May 7, 2023, our organization’s team and event attendees had the chance to break bread over a lovely French luncheon followed by a presentation at the foundation’s headquarters in Hoosick Falls, New York. Brain Fitness Foundation’s founder and executive director, Dr. Suzanne Falla, introduced Dr. Kamran Fallahpour, the Director of Neuroscience and Research. Dr. Fallahpour has pioneered scalable neuro-technology solutions for mental health and led the presentation by discussing how the modern, neuroscience-based interventions offered by Brain Fitness Foundation can help with the global mental health crisis.
The presentation included a musical performance by the O-Neuro Ensemble (Dr. Kamran Fallahpour and Jenavieve Varga) with guest appearances by Roy Neiderhoffer and Michael Casey from Dartmouth School of Music.
“Music that is purposely and intentionally composed based on neuroscience and psychoacoustic principles can drive the brain into specific states that can help with stress response, mood, sleep regulation, and improved cognition.” — Dr. Kamran Fallahpour
At Sunday’s event, one of the foundation’s earliest clients shared her heartfelt testimony with attendees:
”I was first diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorder when I was 16 years old and later on, PTSD and an eating disorder. My life had become unsustainable. I wouldn’t go outside, I was isolating myself from friends and family, and neglecting my schoolwork. I constantly felt like everything I did wasn’t good enough and that I was worthless. Eventually, I was hospitalized, medicated, re hospitalized. I tried alternative treatments and nothing worked . Then I flew to New York to work with Dr. Suzanne Falla and tried the treatments offered by Brain Fitness Foundation. Dr.Fallahpour’s treatment plan was different than anything I had ever done. I became more active and I took small steps and started feeling better. This new treatment approach taught me how to focus on being present in the moment and being mindful of every step, no matter how small it might seem.”
Dr.Falla also announced our free summer camp program for kids in grades 2nd through 6th. The three week long camp will be based in Hoosick Falls and will utilize neuroscience-based programs and activities geared towards helping children overcome learning challenges by boosting literacy skills and improving cognitive functions such as long-term memory, attention span, and problem-solving.
